We started out at Mud Island, right on the Mississippi River. Contrary to it's yukky name, it was quite pretty and hot! We took the monorail over. The park has recreated the River in miniature, so that you can wade through many states. Then on to Beale Street, the historic home of the blues. We saw 5 buskers doing acrobatics. Admittedly Beale does need a facelift. We made the obligatory visit to the beautiful Peabody hotel. The history was interesting, the duck walk was marginal. But, how often do you see ducks living in the interior fountain of a 4 star hotel?
Dinner at Neely's Barbecue was extra delicious. Craig, they have one in Nashville, too! We drove by Graceland. It is the beginning of "Elvis Week". Unfortunately, we only saw one Elvis impersonator (?)
